Armed Robbery Suspect Face Justice: Arraignment Set for Thursday

A man from Lake Havasu City faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of armed robbery. Tony L. Crawford, 40, is set for arraignment on Thursday after being indicted on August 15 in Mohave Superior Court.
Crawford’s indictment includes 12 felony charges, such as aggravated assault and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell. He remains in custody at Mohave County Jail with a $50,000 bond, which defense attorney Barbara Hull argues is excessively high.
According to Hull’s recent court filing, Crawford lacks the means to pay the bond and has requested to be released on his own recognizance or for the bond to be reduced to $1,000.
The Mohave County Attorney’s Office has responded, emphasizing Crawford’s status as a repetitive offender due to a previous burglary conviction in 2006. They cited concerns over serious physical threats to victims and additional aggravating factors related to the alleged crimes, which might influence his bond hearing.
This case began on August 5, when police responded to reports of a robbery on South Palo Verde Boulevard. Shortly after, another armed robbery was reported on North Lake Havasu Avenue. Witnesses at both scenes provided similar descriptions of the suspect’s vehicle.
Police located the vehicle during their pursuit and stated that Crawford was seen throwing cash from the window as he fled. He eventually stopped his vehicle on Mescalero Drive and surrendered to officers.
As of Wednesday, no official incident report has been released, and the total amount of money allegedly stolen by Crawford remains undisclosed.
