Woman, dog found dead in Arizona home, boyfriend arrested


The suspect allegedly barricaded himself inside the home before the girlfriend’s body was discovered by Marana police.

MARANA, Ariz. — A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend and a dog in Marana.

Police officers were dispatched Sunday night to a residence near Hartman Lane and Overton Road to conduct a welfare check after 29-year-old Taton Dorfman allegedly told someone he had killed his girlfriend.

Dorfman barricaded himself inside the residence for several hours. A SWAT team was deployed, and Dorfman was eventually taken into custody, according to the Marana Police Department.

After entering the residence, officers found 30-year-old Hannah Rogers and a canine both deceased inside.

Dorfman is facing charges of murder and animal cruelty.
