Arizona teen sentenced to 3 years in prison for assault, drug possession

Noah Pennington, 19, has been sentenced to three years in prison for drug possession and involvement in multiple violent attacks in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Pennington entered plea agreements in July related to three separate incidents, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

He was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault, which is a class three felony, for using a weapon to intimidate two young individuals in Gilbert in 2022. Additionally, Pennington was found guilty of aggravated robbery for beating and robbing a 14-year-old boy along a canal in Gilbert in 2023. Furthermore, he was found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia, a class six undesignated offense, for having fentanyl pills in Mesa.

“We are doing great work holding perpetrators of teen violence accountable for their actions,” Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said in a statement. “Our message to the community is simple: these young adults are paying the price for their deliberate actions and know they cannot get away with it.”

Upon release from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Pennington will be subject to two years of supervised probation.
