Arizona Embraces Refreshing Chill with Temperatures Plummeting 5-10 Degrees Below Normal

PHOENIX — Arizona is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures this weekend as a low-pressure trough sweeps across the western United States. Snow has even been reported in the Cascades of Oregon and Washington, along with the northern Rockies.
On Saturday, Phoenix reached a high of 106 degrees, which aligns with the average for June 21. However, the forecast predicts a further decline, with temperatures expected to peak at 101 degrees on Sunday.
Gusty winds and high fire danger are anticipated to decrease as temperatures cool. Statewide highs will remain 5-10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
This cooler weather is set to linger until midweek, when temperatures will begin to rise again, potentially reaching 110 degrees by next Saturday.
Far eastern Arizona may see some isolated showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday due to limited monsoon moisture, although the Valley is expected to remain dry.
Seven-Day Forecast:
SUNDAY: 101/78 – Below normal
WEDNESDAY: 105/79 – Mainly sunny
THURSDAY: 108/80 – Mainly sunny
