Arizona Braces for Impact: Rain and Snow from Incoming Pacific Storm

Snow in the High Country and rain in the Valley serve as reminders to Arizonans that winter’s grip is still present.
PHOENIX — The state continues to feel the impact of winter, with a Weather Impact Alert issued for Friday. Rain is anticipated across the Valley while the High Country is poised for snowfall.
An active Pacific storm track is set to influence Arizona’s weather, bringing a significant rain band on Friday morning. Snow levels are expected to begin at 7,000 feet Thursday evening, dropping to about 5,500 feet by Friday night.
Rain showers are forecast to reach central Arizona late Thursday night, with the most intense rainfall moving through the Valley on Friday morning, extending into the early afternoon.
While this system may not bring a substantial amount of moisture, it should be sufficient to create slick road conditions and offer some relief to the area’s dry vegetation.
As the weekend approaches, high pressure will return, leading to drier conditions and a rise in temperatures.
Residents are advised to prepare with rain gear and winter boots ahead of the coming weather changes.
