Pima Community College’s Arianna Flores, a freshman pitcher hailing from Salpointe Catholic High School, showcased her talent during the week of January 26 to February 1. She has been recognized for her consistent excellence by being named the ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the second consecutive time, having previously earned the award for the week of January 19-25.
In her most recent outing, Flores delivered a stellar performance in a complete game against Mesa Community College, leading her team to a 3-1 victory. Over the course of seven innings, she surrendered just one earned run, recorded 12 strikeouts, and allowed only one hit, though a lead-off home run in the seventh inning ended her no-hit bid.
Entering this week, Flores boasted an impressive record of 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA across four appearances. She has struck out a notable 28 batters over 16.1 innings, giving up six earned runs during that span.
The Aztecs are set to return to their home field at West Campus Aztec Field on Saturday to face Paradise Valley Community College, with the first game scheduled to begin at noon.
