Is there pot in these ‘adult’ easter eggs in Thunderbird Farms? No, but there are pots

On April 17, 2025, the Desert Plant Collection nursery in Thunderbird Farms will host its inaugural Adult Easter Egg Hunt. This event promises to combine the beauty of blooming prickly pear cacti with a unique twist on a traditional celebration.

With over 60 eggs hidden throughout the property, participants can look forward to discovering not only chocolate treats but also vouchers for free cacti, agave, bushes, and trees. Some lucky hunters may even find vouchers for larger plants delivered and planted at no extra cost, according to nursery owner Agnes Gabica.

Three special “golden eggs” will offer substantial prizes, including a tree or landscape package valued at $500 each. In addition, attendees can enjoy complimentary appetizers and beverages as they participate in this engaging hunt.

Gates will open at 9:30 a.m., with the egg hunt scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and wrap up around 12:30 p.m. Gabica advises participants to wear comfortable walking shoes, as the hunt’s competitive spirit might lead to a quick search.

Located at 10910 N. Brewer Road, this event promises both fun and a chance to enrich your garden with exciting new plants.
