Altercation Erupts into Shooting Inside Scottsdale Grocery Store, Two Injured, Police Report

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Two men are in critical condition following a shooting incident inside an Albertsons store in Scottsdale.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, an altercation between two groups erupted in gunfire at the store near Scottsdale and Thomas roads. Public Information Officer Aaron Bolin stated that two men were struck by bullets during the confrontation.
The situation initially prompted numerous 911 calls from frightened shoppers hiding inside the store. Bolin noted that officers responded as though handling an active shooter scenario.
“We responded as if this could’ve been an active shooter but we have no indication that that was the case,” Bolin clarified.
A third individual, believed to be connected to the altercation, is currently being interviewed by Scottsdale police.
