Maricopa police apprehended 42-year-old Shawn Moroni Campbell on Thursday in Palo Brea. His arrest stems from an extraditable warrant linked to sexual abuse allegations in Maricopa County.

Officers responded to a report of a “suspicious person” at approximately 8 a.m. on Palo Olmo Road. Upon arrival, they discovered and arrested Campbell, who faces serious charges.

According to police documents, Campbell is charged with engaging in sexual contact with individuals without their consent, specifically targeting a person aged 15 or older or a minor under 15 if it involves only the female breast. Details about the alleged incidents remain limited, as a grand jury has yet to indict him, and court records indicate a bench warrant was issued for his arraignment.

Campbell is currently held at the Pinal County jail, with a bond set at $50,000. His criminal history includes guilty pleas for auto theft, larceny, and trafficking stolen property back in 2010, alongside multiple charges in 2016 for forgery, burglary, and drug-related offenses.
