Kendrick Montez-Simpson, a resident of Snowflake, was arrested early on May 1, 2025, in connection with the theft of firearms in Maricopa.
The incident unfolded at a Bashas’ parking lot on John Wayne Parkway, where police responded to a report of a gun theft. Witnesses indicated that a Hellcat 9-millimeter handgun had been stolen from a Ford Mustang shortly after midnight.
At 1:45 a.m., officers located Montez-Simpson in the parking lot of Cobblestone Fiesta. He matched the description provided by witnesses, and authorities found the stolen firearm in his possession, according to police documentation.
Following his arrest, Montez-Simpson was taken to a local hospital. While there, he reportedly spat at an officer, threatening, “I’ll kill you.” His aggressive behavior continued during transport to the police station, where he allegedly declared, “I’ll kill you, chop you up and eat you.”
He is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, theft of a firearm, and possession of stolen property. Notably, Montez-Simpson has a history of theft and drug-related convictions in Snowflake Justice Court.
