Airport Advisory Board terminated, informal meetings to continue in place

In a significant decision, the Lake Havasu City Council voted on Tuesday to repeal the city code governing the Airport Advisory Board, effectively dissolving the entity. This move follows a lengthy period during which the board had not convened, with the last meeting focused on business taking place nearly two years ago on April 20, 2022.

Despite the official termination of the advisory board, discussions regarding airport activities will persist in a less formal format. Airport Manager Robert Kane indicated that informal meetings have been established to enhance community outreach concerning airport developments. This approach aims to better engage residents and stakeholders.

Two community forums have already occurred—one in May and another in August—serving as platforms for public input. Information about these meetings is distributed to airport tenants and is also publicly available via the city clerk’s office. A future meeting is scheduled for November, signaling a commitment to ongoing dialogue.

Residents are encouraged to communicate their concerns directly to airport staff through phone or email during business hours, which run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community Engagement Officer Jerri Bracamonte affirmed that this direct line of communication will complement the informal meetings.
