PHOENIX — This morning, residents in south-central Arizona experienced spotty showers and rumbles of thunder. As the day unfolds, the focus will shift towards the higher terrain areas typical of Arizona, where afternoon and evening showers and storms are expected for the coming days.

In addition, Arizona’s temperatures are set to remain steadily above normal. Daytime highs in the lower deserts will reach between 105 to 109 degrees over the next week.

For the upcoming days, the seven-day forecast indicates the following:

  • WEDNESDAY: High of 106 and a low of 84 with morning showers.
  • THURSDAY: High of 109 and a low of 85, clearing and warm.
  • FRIDAY: High of 108 and a low of 85, remaining above normal.
  • SATURDAY: High of 109 and a low of 84, mostly sunny.
  • SUNDAY: High of 109 and a low of 85, mostly sunny.

On the Monsoon Meter, the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains are currently rated at a level 5, indicating significant storm activity.
