DPS: Impaired Driver’s Crash with Semi-Truck on I-10 in Goodyear Claims Life of One

Significant traffic delays are impacting drivers in the West Valley this morning following a deadly three-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 near Dysart Road.
This incident occurred overnight and involved a Corvette reportedly traveling at a high speed, which collided with a semi-truck and another vehicle. The crash resulted in two of the involved vehicles catching fire.
Authorities stated that the driver of the Corvette attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by Goodyear police nearby. Meanwhile, both the Corvette driver and the driver of the third vehicle have been hospitalized. Tragically, the semi-truck driver did not survive.
As recovery efforts continue, eastbound lanes have partially reopened, although the HOV and left lanes remain closed. Westbound traffic is completely halted, with vehicles being diverted at Dysart Road.
Preliminary investigations suggest that impairment may have been a contributing factor to the crash. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

I-10 is currently closed in both directions in Goodyear due to the accident at Dysart Road. All traffic is being rerouted at Dysart. Motorists are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes until further notice.
Authorities have not provided an estimated time for reopening the highway.
