80-Year-Old Man Passes Away During Epic Grand Canyon River Adventure
ARIZONA, USA — A tragic incident occurred in the Grand Canyon when an elderly man drowned after his boat flipped in the Colorado River. National Park Service officials confirmed the man’s death on Sunday.
Emergency rangers were contacted around 3:40 p.m. during a commercial river trip near Fossil Rapid. Reports indicated that an 80-year-old man fell into the river after his boat capsized.
Attempts to resuscitate him were made by fellow group members and park rangers who were flown to the scene. Unfortunately, these efforts proved unsuccessful.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner is now involved as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. However, the official cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time.
