Main Street’s Our Shabby Shack Calls on Youth and Customers for Enchanting Book Readings
As the event season nears, a Havasu shop is proactively setting the stage for community engagement. Our Shabby Shack and Book Exchange invites youth and local patrons to participate in diverse reading activities, scheduled monthly.
Store owner Denise Griess emphasizes her commitment to hosting at least one event each month. This Saturday, the agenda includes a morning book reading complemented by an exciting visit from comic book icon Spider-Man.
“The events we offer are free,” Griess stated, expressing her desire for community members to explore the store while enjoying the activities. The readings are expected to last around 30 minutes, although some might extend to an hour, depending on the event.
Looking ahead, next Saturday will introduce a theme of Children’s Yoga and Story Time. Griess projects attendance could range from three to 15 participants for the upcoming Saturday events.
“We want to go above and beyond in our service with our customers and let them know they are our number one priority,” she commented. The goal is to connect both residents and visitors with the treasures the store has to offer.
Events are set to kick off at 10 a.m. at Our Shabby Shack and Book Exchange, located at 2029 McCulloch Blvd. N. Both readings are free and accessible to the public, encouraging a vibrant community turnout.
