Tragic Collision Claims Life in South Phoenix, Report Police

PHOENIX — Authorities are on the lookout for a light-colored truck following a fatal hit-and-run involving a bicyclist in south Phoenix.

The tragic incident took place on Saturday night near 16th Street and Buckeye Road. Upon arrival, Phoenix police discovered a severely injured bicyclist, who later succumbed to injuries at the hospital. 

The truck fled the scene before officers arrived. According to detectives, it was headed north on 16th Street when it struck the bicyclist, continuing its route without stopping. 

Authorities have identified the vehicle as a light-colored truck. They urge anyone with information to contact Silent Witness at 480 (WITNESS) or 480 (TESTIGO) and provide tips anonymously. Rewards are being offered for information leading to an arrest.
