Volunteer, gives more than 29 years to Cave Creek Museum

Stephanie Bradley has dedicated over 29 years to the Cave Creek Museum, significantly impacting the community through her volunteer work. Originally from Massachusetts, Bradley relocated from Connecticut to Cave Creek, Arizona, seeking a more rural setting.

Upon settling in Cave Creek, Bradley’s quest for local activities led her to discover the Cave Creek Museum. She started as the museum’s newsletter editor, and her involvement quickly deepened. By 1995, Bradley had become a crucial figure in the museum’s operations.

As a volunteer, Bradley played a key role in developing the museum’s flora and fauna diorama exhibits, which remain a prominent attraction. This work capitalized on her experience with the Desert Awareness Committee.

“I enjoyed learning everything and doing whatever was needed,” Bradley stated. She also took on the task of publicizing the museum’s importance to local residents, emphasizing its historical and cultural significance.

In 1998, Bradley joined the museum’s board, further extending her commitment. Today, she continues to serve as a docent, a researcher, and a popular speaker on geological topics related to Cave Creek and Carefree. Bradley’s academic background includes a geology degree from the University of Massachusetts and a former career as a science teacher.

Evelyn Johnson, the museum’s executive director, lauded Bradley’s contributions, stating, “Stephanie has done incredible things for our museum, and we can’t thank her enough for her extensive service.”

The Cave Creek Museum, founded 54 years ago, aims to preserve the area’s historical and cultural artifacts. Located at 6140 E. Skyline Drive in Cave Creek, Arizona, the museum operates from October through May. For more information, visit cavecreekmuseum.org or call 480.488.2764.
