Tragic Fatal Stabbing Shocks Deer Valley Community

The man was found near 39th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane.

PHOENIX — A man was found dead Sunday night in north Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

At about 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Deer Valley area of 39th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane for reports of an injured man. Upon arrival, they found a man who had sustained a stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s death remains under investigation and he’s been identified as 48-year-old Jerry Perez.
