Snapchat Smuggler: Man Sentenced for Aiding Undocumented Immigrants
Prosecutors say Jesus Alexandro Sanchez-Armenta was using social media to coordinate transporting undocumented immigrants.
PHOENIX — A Phoenix man was sentenced to 72 months in prison after prosecutors say he used social media to coordinate the transportation of undocumented immigrants from southern Arizona.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, Jesus Alexandro Sanchez-Armenta, 23, pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Transport Illegal Aliens for Profit on February 22 and was sentenced in July.
Prosecutors say Sanchez-Armenta coordinated through Snapchat to pick up undocumented immigrants in southern Arizona and bring them further into the US.
