Jury Set to Deliberate in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ High-Profile Sex Trafficking Case

Jurors will begin deliberating on Monday in the high-profile sex trafficking case against Sean “Diddy” Combs, a case that carries potential life sentences. Federal Judge Arun Subramanian has instructed the jury, composed of eight men and four women, to discuss the extensive and often graphic evidence presented over the past seven weeks.
The trial has uncovered disturbing allegations regarding Combs’ alleged involvement in a criminal enterprise that engaged in sex trafficking. Facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking, and other related offenses, Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty. The accusations include plans to transport sex workers across state lines and exploit intimate relationships with former girlfriends.
During closing arguments, Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik painted a picture of Combs as a figure who used his status and resources to manipulate those around him. “He thought that his fame, wealth, and power put him above the law,” she asserted. Conversely, defense attorney Marc Agnifilo framed the case as fueled by financial motivations rather than genuine crime, highlighting that one accuser is also pursuing a civil lawsuit against Combs.
The prosecution presented 34 witnesses, including testimonies from Combs’ former partners, Cassie and “Jane,” who spoke under a pseudonym. Both women detailed experiences of violence and coercion during their relationships. Key evidence included security footage of an incident in 2016 where Combs was seen attacking Cassie.
Combs opted not to testify, and his legal team refrained from calling witnesses in his defense, focusing instead on undermining the credibility of the accusers. They acknowledged instances of violence but maintained that any sexual encounters were consensual, arguing that the prosecution has overreached into Combs’ private life.
