Family Mass Suicide Plot: Man Arrested for Alleged Orchestration

A man from Maricopa Meadows was taken into custody on June 19, 2025, following a reported threat of violence at his home.

According to the probable cause statement, police responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Dirk Street shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Phillip Gracia, 45, allegedly engaged in a heated argument with his wife and stepchildren. During this confrontation, he retrieved firearms from the garage and a safe, placing them on the kitchen counter.

It was reported that Gracia threatened to “blow his brains out” and even instructed family members, including their cat, to harm themselves.

In addition, he reportedly destroyed a baby gate worth $85 that was meant to contain the family dog.

Gracia was arrested and now faces multiple disorderly conduct charges with enhancements related to domestic violence, as well as one count of criminal damage. He could serve up to 22 months in jail.
