A/C unit stolen Maricopa
Suspects Locked in Tense Stare-Down with Security Camera During Hidden Valley A/C Heist

Authorities are investigating the theft of two air conditioning units from a vacant home in Hidden Valley. This incident was brought to attention by local residents on the social media platform Nextdoor.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that two men and a woman may have been involved in removing the mini-split AC units. Accompanying photos show one man directly looking into the camera while another appears to be awkwardly maneuvering along a wall, reminiscent of a scene from a light-hearted heist film.
Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene near Ralston and Wildwood Roads on Saturday evening. Sam Salzwedel, a department spokesperson, confirmed that the theft was reported by a concerned resident.
The theft is believed to have occurred possibly up to two weeks prior, with no arrests made as the investigation remains open.
Despite this incident, community discussions about safety are ongoing. Last month, Sheriff Ross Teeple met with residents to address growing fears regarding property crime in the area.
During the meeting, officials reassured attendees that Hidden Valley is not as dangerous as perceived, countering claims of lawlessness.
Pinal County Sheriff’s Office statistics indicate that crime rates in the area do not support the negative reputation. Ongoing patrols by deputies aim to reinforce community safety, illustrating that while thefts do occur, they are not reflective of the norm.
