Missing Arizona camper found alive at bottom of cliff, family says

Janelle Banda, a 32-year-old camper reported missing in northern Arizona, has been found safe. Authorities confirmed her status on June 16, following an extensive search by the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

Banda was last seen on Friday night around 10:30 p.m. near the Edge of the World area, which overlooks Bear Sign Canyon. She had left her campsite but did not return, prompting the sheriff’s office to initiate a search operation.

Her family expressed immense relief upon hearing the news. Sarah Banda, Janelle’s sister, said, “I couldn’t imagine my life without her, and I’m so happy that I get to still have more time with her.”

The successful outcome of the search highlights the dedication of local authorities in ensuring public safety and well-being in the region.
