Phoenix faces intense heat with near-record highs on Father's Day

Temperatures in Phoenix soared to 110 degrees for the first time this year on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the 2025 weather calendar. A Weather Impact Alert remains active through Monday due to the extreme conditions.

The forecast for Father’s Day indicates even hotter temperatures, with many areas in the Valley expected to reach between 111 and 115 degrees. The record high for Phoenix on this day stands at 115, set in 2021. Overnight lows will offer little respite, dipping only into the low to mid-80s.

As the week progresses, expect daytime highs around the 110 mark. This trend appears set to continue, with 110-plus temperatures becoming the norm rather than just a passing occurrence.

There could be a slight cooling trend by the weekend, potentially keeping afternoon temperatures below the 110 threshold.

Looking ahead, here is the seven-day forecast:

SUNDAY: 114/83 Sunny & hot for Father’s Day

MONDAY: 113/84 Extreme heat warning continues
