Broadway Curve construction now complete, all lanes open

TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced the completion of the extensive reconstruction of the Broadway Curve area. This multi-year infrastructure project aimed to increase the capacity of Interstate 10, addressing the anticipated traffic growth. The area is projected to see a 25% increase in traffic over the next 15 years, with current estimates indicating around 300,000 vehicles daily.

The project, which began approximately four years ago, involved adding additional lanes along I-10 from the US 60 to Interstate 17. New bridge constructions and enhancements were made, including widening the I-10 bridge over the Salt River and erecting barrier walls.

While major construction has concluded, ADOT reports that some minor finishing touches are still in progress. However, all lanes in the 11-mile stretch have reopened to facilitate smoother traffic flow.
