A construction worker was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Amarillo Creek on the morning of May 12, 2025. The incident took place in a residential area approximately one mile south of the city limits, near Papago Road.

Emergency responders, including the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and Maricopa Fire and Medical Department, arrived on the scene shortly before 10 a.m. to address the situation.

The worker, employed by Desert Vista Inc., was found lying behind his company vehicle when medics arrived. He had been outside his vehicle when another vehicle hit him, according to PCSO spokesperson Sam Salzwedel.
