GIRLS TENNIS

The girls’ tennis team experienced a remarkable season, beginning with 16 participants and ending with 14 committed players. Their first away match featured camaraderie as team members crafted “Wimbledon-worthy” hairstyles during the journey.

Throughout the season, the players demonstrated significant growth, challenging established teams and gaining valuable experience. One standout was Ashley Collins, a freshman who maintained an undefeated record in singles. Newcomers Ellie Savage, Sophie Ritz, and Maria Santos evolved into skilled JV players, showcasing their potential. While the team will lose four seniors—Madeleine Lewis, Abbie Bolender, Kayte Wilhelm, and Stella Huff—there’s optimism for next year’s team dynamics.

Mike Kirby expressed excitement for the future, emphasizing the joy and progress experienced throughout the year. “Go Falcons!” he cheered.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Brycen Bolwitt has solidified his role as a key player in the boys’ volleyball program over three seasons. As a Varsity starter, he has demonstrated leadership and skill both as a Middle and Outside Hitter. His ability to step in as a setter showcases his versatility on the court.

JP Wales, having transitioned from JV starter to Varsity, serves as a quiet leader with a commendable work ethic. His consistent performance has made him an invaluable asset to the team, noted Coach Shawn Covely.

BOYS TENNIS

The success of the Cactus Shadows Boys Varsity Tennis team reflects both individual talent and strategic planning. Players have effectively exploited matchups, winning not just through talent but also through intelligence on the court.

Team spirit remains high, with players supporting one another regardless of match outcomes. This camaraderie fosters a positive atmosphere, motivating continuous improvement.

Junior Marshall Ginsberg led the team with a 19–7 record, excelling in both singles and doubles. Sophomore Ayden Blamires and Ryker Pearson contributed strong records, demonstrating remarkable consistency in their performances. Honorable mentions include seniors Cameron Coolidge and Jakob Duffey for their leadership and contributions.

Mike Kirby celebrated his first year coaching the boys’ tennis team, praising players for their eagerness to learn and parents for their supportive involvement. The collaboration amongst staff, players, and families has created a thriving environment.

BOYS LACROSSE

Tim Jones noted that this season has been a rebuilding year for the Cactus Shadows Boys Lacrosse team. Despite facing challenges, the players displayed resilience and are preparing for ongoing skill development as they look ahead to next season. Appreciation was extended to the seniors and team captains for their leadership.
