Club announces scholarships, events

The Arizona American Italian Club (AAIC) at 7509 N. 12th St. is bustling with activities this spring. Notably, the club awarded scholarships to seven high school students on April 25, each receiving $1,000 to support their educational pursuits. This initiative recognizes students for their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and community service. The AAIC will continue this tradition annually, with scholarship applications distributed to local high schools.

Upcoming events include a Blood Drive on Saturday, May 3, organized in collaboration with the American Red Cross. The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and participants can call 1-800-733-2767 to schedule appointments. Additionally, a Mother’s Day Brunch will take place on Sunday, May 11, honoring mothers with a special meal prepared by Galindo’s Catering. Reservations are recommended for this event, which will be available until 3 p.m.

Other activities this month feature a Booze’n Brushes Paint Party on Wednesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. Regular happenings include a happy hour every Monday and Tuesday from 3 p.m., Bingo nights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6:30 p.m., and sports like bocce ball and horseshoes. An outdoor patio is also available for dining and relaxation, accompanied by music on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
