Firefighter Hurt as South Phoenix Mobile Home Blaze Displaces Residents

PHOENIX — A firefighter sustained injuries on Sunday afternoon while responding to a mobile home fire in south Phoenix, resulting in the displacement of five residents. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road, as reported by the Phoenix Fire Department.
The injured firefighter was transported to a hospital with an upper extremity injury and is currently in stable condition, according to a department news release. Fire crews arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke emanating from the mobile home.
“Firefighters quickly secured a water source, pulled hand lines, and successfully extinguished the flames,” the fire department stated. Their prompt action prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, and community assistance programs are in place to support the families affected by this incident.
