Tragic Incident: Elderly Woman Loses Life in Collision with City Vehicle in Casa Grande

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — A tragic incident occurred in Casa Grande, resulting in the death of an elderly woman involved in a crash with a city vehicle.

According to city officials, the woman was struck by a transport van shortly before 1 p.m. at the intersection of Amarillo and 3rd streets. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Family members relayed to 12News that the woman was run over twice by the city shuttle.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, as confirmed by city representatives.

In a news release, Casa Grande officials extended their condolences: “Counselors will be available to staff and Senior Center patrons to support our team members and community during this difficult time.
