Suspect Identified After Shooting Incident with Tolleson Police

TOLLESON, Ariz. — A 35-year-old man, identified as Ricky Henry Barron, is hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting involving local police early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. near 99th Avenue and Buckeye Road as authorities were tracking a vehicle reported to have a stolen license plate.
Upon locating the vehicle in a parking lot, two officers approached. According to police, Barron exited the vehicle, leading to a confrontation during which both officers discharged their firearms, striking him multiple times.
Emergency responders quickly transported Barron to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the incident.
The West Valley Incident Response Team is handling the ongoing investigation into the shooting. As of Saturday morning, Barron remains in critical condition, and authorities continue to monitor his status.
