Patrick James Stahoviak, 60, was arrested in Maricopa on March 19 following a violent incident involving his nephew. He now faces up to a year in jail on assault charges.
The Maricopa Police Department responded to a disturbance at a family residence on Desert Willow Drive shortly before 8 p.m. A report indicated that Stahoviak had assaulted his 35-year-old nephew.
According to authorities, Stahoviak allegedly trapped his nephew’s foot in a bedroom door. As family members attempted to assist, Stahoviak reportedly struck his nephew in the face, resulting in the loss of one of his front teeth.
Stahoviak has a criminal history, including a 2002 conviction for selling cocaine in Wisconsin, for which he pleaded no contest. He was previously arrested in 2001 with over 15 grams of cocaine and had been involved in drug sales since at least 1999.
Later charges included a no contest plea for delivering drug paraphernalia from Tempe to Wisconsin, resulting in a court order for restitution of $38,950. Following his latest arrest, Stahoviak was booked into the Pinal County jail.
