Northern Lights celebrates 5 years with free tats and tips

On March 8, 2025, Maricopa residents gathered at Central Arizona College for the You Matter Wellness Event and Northern Lights Therapy’s five-year anniversary celebration.

The event aimed to promote mental health awareness and provide valuable resources. Northern Lights Therapy’s clinical director, Brianna Reinhold, emphasized the importance of widespread information in her opening remarks.

Attendees benefited from insights shared by seven guest speakers who addressed a variety of topics relevant to parents and professionals alike. “Literally everything” was covered, according to Reinhold.

Various organizations, including Against Abuse, One-in-Ten, and The Veterans in Need Project, participated, providing useful information and engaging with the community.

The event featured free tattoos, with Morgan Bennington from Double Down Tattoo drawing significant crowds. Attendees eagerly lined up for the complimentary ink, enriching their event experience.

The free tattoos encouraged attendees to stay longer, leading some to engage with speakers and discussions. “People came for tattoos and ended up wanting to be there for the whole day,” Reinhold noted, highlighting the event’s effectiveness in spreading awareness.

Running for nine hours, the event provided ample opportunity for learning and connection. Reinhold expressed her hope that attendees would gain at least one new insight during their time there.

“If they just take away anything, I’m happy about that,” she said. Reinhold concluded by advocating for more community-driven conversations about mental health resources.
