Walk aims to combat HIV/AIDS

Community organizations, including the Phoenix LGBTQ Employee Alliance, the Phoenix Fast-Track Cities Initiative, and the Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce (GPECC), are mobilizing residents to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic. They are inviting individuals to participate in the Aunt Rita’s Foundation AIDS Walk Arizona as runners, walkers, or sponsors.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, beginning at 8 a.m. at Steele Indian School Park, located at 300 E. Indian School Road.

Since its inception in 1988, the Aunt Rita’s Foundation has dedicated itself to funding initiatives at hospitals, clinics, and nonprofits within the Phoenix area. These efforts focus on prevention, treatment, and raising awareness about HIV/AIDS while working to eliminate stigma surrounding the disease. The AIDS Walk Arizona offers a spirited occasion to back these vital causes.

For those interested in supporting an existing team or participating in the event, further details can be found through local resources.
