TONOPAH, Ariz. — A tragic multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 has claimed the lives of six individuals in the Tonopah area, as reported by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The incident unfolded at approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday at milepost 89, where multiple tractor-trailers collided with passenger vehicles, resulting in several vehicles catching fire. Emergency responders attended to the scene soon after the crash was reported.

In total, 13 people sustained injuries and were subsequently transported to hospitals. The DPS has confirmed the fatalities, indicating the severity of the crash.

Currently, eastbound lanes of I-10 remain closed as authorities assess the situation, with no estimated time for reopening. In contrast, the westbound lanes, which were temporarily closed, have resumed normal traffic flow.
