Coupe flies off John Wayne Parkway in crash at Bowlin

Maricopa experienced a significant traffic disruption following a crash tonight at the intersection of John Wayne Parkway and Bowlin Road, right during the Copa Cultural Night Market. Emergency services were dispatched at 7:14 p.m., according to the Phoenix Regional Dispatch Center.

The collision involved two vehicles: a silver Toyota SUV, severely damaged at the front, remained stuck in the intersection, while a silver Infiniti G37, afflicted with extensive damage to the driver’s side, came to rest off the roadway beside a wall next to a Circle K parking lot. Notably, airbags deployed in both vehicles, indicating a high-impact incident.

Officials cordoned off the northeast corner of the intersection, which was strewn with debris from the wreckage. Responders from the Maricopa Fire and Medical Department, including crews from Engine 574 and Engine 575, worked alongside at least five Maricopa police units and one unit from the state police.

Traffic flow has been severely impacted; northbound lanes of John Wayne Parkway are completely closed, with drivers being redirected onto Bowlin Road. Movement through the intersection for both eastbound and westbound traffic has also been halted.

InMaricopa has reached out to the Maricopa Police Department for further details about the crash, including any potential injuries, which remain unknown at this time.

This is a developing story. Keep an eye out for updates.
