Exciting Transformations Unveiled at WM Phoenix Open: Discover the Major Upgrades!

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Waste Management Phoenix Open kicks off with promising changes that have already garnered positive feedback from fans and officials alike.
This year’s tournament is benefiting from improved weather conditions, a stark contrast to last year’s near washout, along with advanced ticketing systems designed to enhance the overall experience.
“The first crowds today reflect how effective the planning and effort have been to make this event better, rather than just bigger,” commented Scottsdale Police Officer Aaron Bolin.
Last year’s challenges stemmed largely from inclement weather, leaving muddy grounds and constricting attendance sizes. These factors contributed to significant bottlenecking at entrances, causing frustration among attendees.
“Hosting a successful event requires learning from past experiences—both good and bad,” Bolin added, emphasizing the continuous improvements aimed at enhancing the attendee experience.
One noticeable enhancement this year is the addition of a third entrance on Greenway Hayden Loop. This strategic entry point is expected to alleviate overcrowding issues previously encountered.
“All attendees must go through safety protocols to enter, which is managed by our top-tier police and fire departments,” Bolin stated, underscoring the commitment to event safety.
In a bid to streamline ticketing, fans can now scan day-specific digital tickets, reducing instances of overcrowding on popular days. Past issues arose when attendees held tickets valid for any day, leading to spikes in attendance during favorable weather.
If inclement weather affects a purchased ticket day, organizers have set up reimbursement options to ensure fans are taken care of.
“We have adapted based on our experiences and always prepare plans to run the event safely,” Bolin noted.
The WM Phoenix Open will occur from February 6 through February 9, with hopes that these changes will result in a smoother, more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
