Devin Booker scores 31 points as Suns run away from Warriors for 130-105 win

SAN FRANCISCO — In a dominant performance, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Golden State Warriors 130-105 on Friday night. Devin Booker led the charge for Phoenix, scoring 31 points and dishing out 11 assists. Kevin Durant added 19 points against his former team, showcasing the depth and talent of the Suns’ roster.

In addition to Booker and Durant, Nick Richards contributed significantly with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Bradley Beal also shone off the bench, scoring 21 points.

On the other side, Stephen Curry struggled to find his rhythm. After attempting just two shots in the first half, he finally scored with 7:38 left before halftime, finishing the game with only 14 points on a disappointing 1 for 6 from beyond the arc. Moses Moody was one of the few bright spots for the Warriors, scoring 17 points as the team looked to maintain momentum after a previous victory over Oklahoma City.

The Suns have been resilient, winning six of their last eight games and bouncing back from a loss to Minnesota earlier in the week. Booker’s shooting efficiency, particularly from three-point range, remains noteworthy as he inches closer to becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.

Injuries have also impacted the Warriors. Kevon Looney played with a protective mask after breaking his nose. Coach Steve Kerr opted for Quinten Post in the starting lineup again, despite a challenging outing against the Thunder. Post managed to score nine points and grab eight rebounds during the game.

A pivotal moment occurred late in the first half when Grayson Allen executed a spectacular alley-oop off a bounce pass from Booker, which helped the Suns establish a solid halftime lead. The Warriors, however, faced challenges from long-range shooters, finishing the game with a poor 16 for 44 from three-point territory.

Looking ahead, the Suns will play the Trail Blazers in a back-to-back matchup on Saturday night, while the Warriors will host the Orlando Magic on Monday. The competition heats up as both teams aim for crucial wins in their respective schedules.

The Phoenix sports scene is rich, featuring four major professional teams: the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, NBA’s Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, and MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks.
