A recent poll indicates that Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05) holds a substantial lead over other Republican contenders in the 2026 Arizona gubernatorial race. The congressman submitted his letter of interest to run for governor earlier this week.

The survey, conducted by Data Orbital between January 18-20 and sponsored by AZ Free News, questioned 500 likely GOP primary voters on their preferences among potential candidates. Biggs emerged clearly ahead with 31.7% support, presenting a significant 19.3% advantage over competitor Karrin Taylor Robson, who garnered 12.4%. Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee received 7.4% of the votes, with the poll’s margin for error set at 4.47%.

George Khalaf, president of Data Orbital, commented on the findings, highlighting Biggs’ prominent position among strong conservative voters. “His support is particularly robust, capturing 45% of this key demographic,” Khalaf stated. This group, historically reliable in primary elections, could give Biggs a considerable advantage if he opts to enter the race formally.

Despite Biggs’ leading standing, there are opportunities for other candidates. Kimberly Yee was favored among younger voters aged 18-34, while Biggs showed strong backing among independents, with 23.1% support compared to Robson’s 11.7%. Notably, 45% of those surveyed remain undecided, leaving the potential for a competitive race ahead.
