Man’s Death Following Brawl Sparks Homicide Investigation by Police

A man died two weeks after he was found injured from a fight. Police are calling it a homicide.


PHOENIX — A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a 65-year-old man, identified as Lincoln Guest. Authorities announced the investigation on Friday night.

Guest succumbed to injuries sustained during a fight that took place in central Phoenix. The altercation occurred on December 30 near 13th Avenue and Sherman Street, prompting police to respond to reports of the disturbance.

When officers arrived on the scene around 4 p.m., they discovered Guest with noticeable injuries. Initially, he was believed to have a chance of recovery, but he ultimately died on January 14 at a local hospital.

The Office of the Medical Examiner later ruled his death a homicide, with the official designation made on January 16. Homicide detectives have since taken charge of the investigation, although specific details regarding the case remain limited.
