Wrong-Way Driver Crashes into Police Units on US-60

WICKENBURG, Ariz. — A dramatic incident occurred Friday night when a wrong-way driver crashed into two Wickenburg Police Department vehicles on US-60. The police department reported that officers were alerted to the reckless driving just before 9 p.m.

The driver was traveling west in the eastbound lanes near milepost 123 when the collision happened while officers attempted to intervene. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the event.

Emergency responders took the driver into custody and transported them to a nearby hospital. Despite sustaining injuries, the driver is expected to recover.

In the aftermath of the accident, eastbound lanes of US-60 near milepost 114 remain closed as authorities investigate the scene.
