LOS ANGELES — The nominations for the 82nd Golden Globes have been unveiled, showcasing a diverse array of talent in both film and television. Among the frontrunners are titles like “The Bear,” “Shōgun,” and “Emilia Pérez,” with “Emilia Pérez” leading the pack with an impressive ten nominations.
This year stands out as there lacks a definitive Oscar favorite, primarily due to the separation of drama and musical/comedy categories at the Globes. High-profile contenders such as Jon M. Chu’s “Wicked” and other projects like “Conclave” and “The Brutalist” are also in the running.
The Golden Globes also recognized two noteworthy honorees. Viola Davis will receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, while Ted Danson, celebrated for his role in “Cheers,” is set to receive the Carol Burnett Award. These accolades will be presented during a formal gala dinner on January 3.
Comedian Nikki Glaser is slated to host the event, taking place on January 5 at 8 p.m. Eastern. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS and available for streaming on Paramount+.
