Man who crashed into Walmart fence was high on dust remover, cops say

In a disturbing incident on Friday, a Hidden Valley man crashed into a fence at the Maricopa Walmart while under the influence of inhalants. Police reports indicate that 47-year-old Michael Aiden-Lee Shrader was found unconscious in his camouflage-patterned truck behind the store.

The emergency call came around 3:30 p.m. from Walmart employees who observed Shrader huffing substance in the parking lot. When officers arrived, they discovered his Ford Ranger pickup had collided with a fence, and he was unresponsive in the driver’s seat, clutching a can of dust remover spray and exhibiting signs of a seizure.

Maricopa Fire and Medical Department personnel quickly attended to Shrader, reviving him before he was removed from the vehicle. Subsequent to his recovery, police took his fingerprints and released him after filing charges of reckless driving, criminal damage, and inhalation of a toxic substance to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office.

If convicted, Shrader could face a sentence exceeding two and a half years in prison.
