The incident transpired when the red sedan allegedly ran a red light and struck a silver Nissan Z sports coupe making a U-turn on a green arrow signal. The impact caused significant damage, and both vehicles had their airbags deployed.

Witness Kathleen Prybylski emphasized the abrupt nature of the crash, stating, “She never stopped. She plowed right into him.” The aftermath revealed a female passenger in the Nissan Z appeared to have sustained injuries. Emergency services, including the Maricopa Police and Fire Departments, were on the scene within five minutes of the report, around 3:20 p.m.

By 4:19 p.m., both damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by a tow truck, and crews were sweeping the roadway to clear debris, ensuring traffic flow could resume shortly. The northbound lanes had been completely blocked due to the collision, causing significant traffic disruptions.
