UPS Workers Nabbed in Mesa for Suspected Package Theft

MESA, Ariz. — Mesa police have arrested four UPS employees for alleged involvement in a fraudulent scheme that redirected packages to their personal addresses.
The arrested individuals, identified as Casey Bedell, 31, Jeremy Large, 33, Bo Arias, 34, and David Panasci, 31, were taken into custody following reports of fraud at a UPS facility on Higley Road on December 17. Authorities responded swiftly to investigate the claims.
Documents reveal that the suspects purportedly confessed to creating fake shipping labels with fictitious names. This deceitful tactic allowed them to divert packages meant for other recipients to their own homes.
Sources indicate that the employees would remove high-value electronics from the shipping line and alter their shipping information. Following a search of their residences, Mesa police recovered numerous stolen goods.
One suspect reportedly admitted that the fraudulent activities had been ongoing for a year. The scheme was uncovered after UPS conducted an internal review, which prompted them to involve law enforcement.
Mesa police continue to investigate the matter, though further details about the ongoing inquiry have not been released.
