Partnership helps get lost pets home

Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) is collaborating with the Arizona Humane Society and the nonprofit Petco Love to enhance efforts in reuniting lost pets with their families.

This initiative introduces Petco Love Lost, a free national database that employs photo-matching technology. The aim is to streamline the process of finding lost pets, making it quicker and more efficient. Pet owners can upload photos of their missing pets, which will be scanned to check if the animals are at a nearby county shelter.

As of late October, MCACC has discontinued its Stray Map Tool. All reports related to lost or found pets should now be submitted through the Petco Love Lost platform. Residents who have previously filed reports using the Stray Map Tool are advised to refile through Petco Love Lost for better results.
