Rush-hour crash sparks sedan fire on SR 347

A vehicle collision accompanied by a fire occurred on State Route 347, resulting in minor injuries and significant traffic delays during rush hour on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place in the southbound lanes near Casa Blanca Road at approximately 6:10 p.m., as reported by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the two-vehicle crash. According to a spokesperson, the situation was largely resolved by 7:03 p.m., but delays for southbound traffic extended up to an hour while emergency crews worked on the scene.

As traffic resumed, the crash area was cleared, allowing for improved conditions in the affected lanes.
