Introducing Vince Leach: A Fresh Perspective in the Spotlight
Senator-elect Vince Leach is making a comeback in Arizona’s Legislative District 17 after defeating incumbent Justine Wadsack in the recent primary elections. Leach, a seasoned business owner and politician, previously served in the House starting in 2014 before transitioning to the Senate in 2018.
After losing his seat to Wadsack in 2022, he aimed to reclaim his position by emphasizing his conservative credentials, particularly on issues such as border security and tax reduction. Notably, Leach played a significant role in finances, having served as vice chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee and as a member of committees focused on finance and state budgets.
Throughout his legislative career, he has introduced measures aimed at enhancing legislative oversight of citizen ballot initiatives. Notably, in 2022, he sponsored a controversial bill to allow legislative review of election results, which sought to empower the Legislature to reject outcomes from both primary and general elections.
As he returns to the Senate, Leach will serve as vice chair of the Senate Finance Committee and participate in the Regulatory Affairs, Government Reform, and Appropriations committees. Despite multiple requests for comment, Leach has not responded thus far.
