What began as a minor dispute over a Burger King order escalated dramatically, culminating in chaos within the establishment on John Wayne Parkway. A customer became irate when her chicken nuggets did not meet her expectations, triggering a shocking chain of events.

Recent bodycam footage released by the Maricopa Police Department reveals the tense moments surrounding the incident from September 2023. Officers can be seen questioning the arrested suspects, Sheree N. and Tavarus D. Ross, along with witnesses who appeared bewildered by the unfolding violence.

Following the confrontation in the drive-thru, the couple stormed into the restaurant. Eyewitnesses reported that they began throwing items, even toppling a pastry display, causing significant damage. The anger prompted by the disagreement over food choices was both surprising and distressing for employees, with one worker tearfully recounting how the situation spiraled out of control over a mere “four-piece nuggie.”

While the couple’s four-year-old daughter witnessed the chaos, she fortunately remained uninjured. The Rosses told authorities that she was inadvertently struck by soda from the drink thrown by an employee during the scuffle.

Tavarus expressed his frustration to the police, saying he felt wronged, especially with his daughter present. He candidly admitted to being the sole employee at the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location, which he had to close when the altercation ensued, forcing him into a challenging situation.

Shortly after the incident, the restaurant reopened as a Wetzel’s Pretzels on November 16. In the aftermath, Sheree admitted to throwing water at an employee, reacting to what she claimed was a soda thrown back at her.

Both were released from custody, with Sheree facing five counts of disorderly conduct and one count of property damage, which led to a suspended sentence. Tavarus was charged with assault and disorderly conduct, but the most serious charges against him were dropped. He ultimately pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Maricopa police arrived on the scene shortly after the incident, only to find the family had left. Inside, they encountered a shaken employee, surrounded by spilled food and remnants of the disturbance.

This incident underscores how a seemingly trivial dispute can escalate into serious consequences, leaving both emotional and physical damage in its wake.
