Hello, North Central neighbors!

The year 2024 is drawing to a close, marking a significant period for the community. This month’s cover story highlights the transformation of the Metro District, with the Metrocenter Mall’s demolition paving the way for a new project, The Metropolitan.

I spoke with Mitra Khazai, executive director of the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix, about the chorus’s impact in “moving hearts and uplifting spirits.” Their dedication continues to resonate within the community.

In the Community section, we provide insights into the proposed development at Turney and 21st Street. Additionally, The Nash celebrates its 12th anniversary, showcasing renewed performance and education spaces. There are numerous opportunities to engage with local events this month.

In this month’s Café Chat, Marjorie Rice converses with Anthony Spinato, as Spinato’s commemorates 50 years of service to Valley residents.

As always, the Arizona Humane Society features its Pet of the Month, this time introducing a senior dog named Tony. The issue also encapsulates other community news, business highlights, dining suggestions, and an Arts & Entertainment calendar.

We hope you enjoy this December issue. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and a safe New Year!
